30 minute weekly lessons.
2. Membership Fee (previously called "tuition")
Membership Fee is not per lesson but on monthly basis regardless of the number of weeks in the month. Membership
Fee is due at the last lesson of the previous month with one week of grace period. If the Membership Fee is paid on or
after the 8th of the month, a late fee of $5 per student must be added to the payment. Membership Fee includes tuition, lesson books, and the cost
for entering 2 student recitals per year (concert hall rental fee, programs and flower cost). Students from a "New Family" (first 1 year with the
studio) is charged slightly higher Membership Fee.
1)
School Year Monthly Membership Fee (September through May) $115/mo (New Family - $125/mo) 2) Summer Months Monthly Membership Fee (Jun through August) $90/mo (New Family - $95/mo)
This reduced Summer Months Membership
Fee covers 10 lessons during the three months. After 10 lessons, you can pay $25/lesson for each extra lesson
3. Cancelation and Refund
There are three types of
lesson cancelation.
1) Cancelation by Student If you miss
a lesson and as long as you notify the studio by 9 AM of the lesson day, you can schedule a Make-up Lesson. Make-up
Lesson has to be scheduled within 2 weeks before or after the missed lesson in the colored but not filled slot in studio’s
appointment book. Please talk to me/e-mail me when scheduling a make-up lesson and get my confirmation.
2) Cancelation by Studio If the studio cancels a lesson, $30 will be refunded to you.
3) Cancelation due to Holiday The studio observes the following legal holidays and the MDUSD School Recess days before or after these holidays:
Lincoln’s Birthday (February) President’s Day (February) Memorial Day (May) Labor Day (September) Veteran’s Day (November)
Martin Luther King Jr. Day The studio does not observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day
(January) due to the close timing of this holiday to the student recital.
Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day See following section.
If your lesson will be canceled
due to the studio’s observation of these holidays, you can either schedule a make-up lesson or subtract $25 ($30 if
you are a New Family who has been with the studio for less than a year) from the tuition for the month.
4. MDUSD Spring Break, Thanksgiving, and Winter
Break Weeks
The studio will have 4 weeks in a year
with modified schedule. During weeks of Spring Break (1 week), Thanksgiving (1 week), and Winter Break (2 weeks) set by MDUSD
(Mt. Diablo Unified School District), the studio will have 3 studio open days per week and operate for long hours. These studio
open days will be announced approximately 1 month prior to the week and you will be requested to schedule your lesson for
the week on one of those studio open days.
5. Student's Vacation
There are two things you can do if you will
be away for a long period of time for a vacation:
1) Stop the Membership with the studio
and come back as a new student when you are back from the vacation. You may lose your slot and you will be charged Membership
Fee for a new student for one year when you come back from the vacation.
2) Pay
the Membership Fee for the time you will be away to reserve the slot and the reduced Membership Fee privilege. The student
reserves the right to schedule Make-up Lessons following the guideline set in 3. 1) above.
6. Studio's Vacation
The studio may take up to 2 weeks of vacation
weeks per year. The vacation schedule will be announced in advance and $25 per one missed lesson will be subtracted from the
Membership Fee for the month.
